Less than one week to show time! Are you ready? You'll notice a few changes to the guide. Here are the most notable:
November 22nd Update
Hello Speedgolfers. We are just a few short weeks away from GO time! I hope your training has been intense and your excitement level is on the rise. Together we are going to make Speedgolf history on December 11th.
This week we are releasing the Online Player Guide, a dynamic communication hub between the players and SGUSA. As you'll no doubt notice, this webpage is a work in progress. New sections and additional information will be added on a daily basis all the way up through tournament day.
As we shift away from email communication, please make it your responsibility to check here every day for information you are seeking before reaching out to SGUSA. We have added a FAQ section with the ability to submit questions or comments. We will post new questions with answers daily to the benefit of all participants.
If you don't see your picture in the competitor bio section, it may be because you have not sent one yet? If you have sent a picture, we'll get it up very soon. If you do not like the picture we used for you, send us one you like better!
The participant directory is here to facilitate easy communication between players. While it is meant for your eyes only, certain members of the media may also benefit from access to this page.
More to come.

Q: When will my official tee time be posted?
A: Tee times will be posted no later than Wednesday, December 6th.
Q: Are players responsible to know the Rules of Golf?
A: Yes. The USGA Rules of Golf are used to govern Speedgolf USA competition, except when the Rules would substantially impede a Speedgolfer’s pace of play. In those cases, local rules for Speedgolf are put into effect.
*Local rules for the tournament are sent to you one week prior to the event.
Q: What are the rules of Speedgolf?
A: Speedgolf specific rules include:
- Players must carry and keep all their equipment without assistance for the duration of the round.
- One procedure for out of bounds, lost ball, unplayable lie, and water hazard: 1-stroke penalty, drop anywhere along the line of flight of the previous shot.
- Distance measuring devices and allowed. So are headphones, music, GPS watches and heart rate monitors.
- SpeedGolf Score (SGS) is the combination of golf strokes and elapsed round time. (ex: 80 in 55:01 = 135:01)
- Any score within 3-seconds of the low score is considered a tie. A sudden death playoff will determine the winner
Q: Are there any other local rules for this tournament I need to know about?
A: - Yes. Many tournaments institute local rules to address issues specific to the event, course, and conditions. Local rules for the tournament will be reviewed at the mandatory player's meeting on Sunday evening at 6pm.
Q: Are bags/clubs/equipment allowed on the green surfaces?
A: - No.
Bags, clubs, or player's equipment are not permitted on the green surfaces. First time warning, followed by 1 stroke penalty for each subsequent breach of rule.
Q: What do I do in a rules situation on the course if I'm unsure how to proceed?
A: Follow the Speedgolf rules procedure for a lost ball/unplayable lie: One stroke penalty, drop anywhere along the line of flight of the previous shot.
Q: Can I wear/use my round tracking tech (garmin, smartphone app, hr monitor) during competition?
A: Yes. Your Speedgolf round data can be used in a myriad of valuable ways to give people a better understanding of just how awesome this sport is!
Q: Can players wear headphones and listen to music during competition?
A: Yes. Players should limit the volume to a level that allows them to hear their scorekeeper, a player yelling 'fore' from behind, or a horn blast from the tournament director if play needs to be suspended.
Q: What kind of interaction between players and spectators is permitted during the round?
A: - Very little. Keep it simple. Players play. Spectators spectate.
Q: Can people 'run with you' during the round? (submitted by AH)
A: Yes. Spectators are allowed to follow on foot, or pace ahead, provided they maintain an objective distance that does not interfere with or disturb normal play. Repeated interactions may be construed as giving/asking for advice, and a 2-stroke penalty may be assessed.
Q: Will spectator carts be available?
A: Yes. The cost per cart is $20 and can be paid for at the proshop. Carts should remain on cart path. Drivers must agree to operate the cart with safety in mind at all times.
Q: Can spectators help you look for a lost ball?
A: Yes. Spectators are allowed to aid in the search for lost golf balls using care not to improve the lie of the ball.
Q: Can anyone watching you give you yardages? (submitted by JC)
A: No. You're on your own.
Will there be a live leaderboard?
A: Yes. Realtime scoring will be available at speedgolfusa.com/leaderboard
Q: Will there be a live video feed?
A: SpeedGolf USA will be live streaming throughout the day on Facebook and Instagram. @speedgolfusa
Q: Who is going to win the 2019 US Speedgolf Champs?
A: It's depends. Check back soon!
Q: What other questions do you have?
A: Ask away. We'll keep adding to the list.
Don't be afraid to reach out. You + us = awesome tournament!
