On Saturday and Sunday, July 10th and 11th, 2020, the Kentucky Speedgolf Championships presented by Wright Implement returns to GlenOaks Country Club in Prospect, KY. GlenOaks is an undulating and tree-lined track that will challenge both your golf skills and endurance, with nearly 500ft of elevation gain over 5.3 miles.

Entry options for every type of Speedgolfer: curious, beginners, amateurs, professionals. Play as little or as much as you want! Choose from 9 or 18 holes on Day 1, or 18 holes on both days.

    TOURNAMENT DIVISIONS

The tournament will be contested over two days, with a projected 6:30 a.m. start on each day (weather dependent). There will be multiple divisions to accommodate all participant abilities:

    1) 9 & 18 hole Open Divisions: Shorter distance options for beginner Speedgolfers and/or those who are not interested or able to play 36 holes over 2 days. Medals will be awarded to the top finishers.

    TOURNAMENT RULES & SCORING

The SGUSA Official Rules of Speedgolf will govern play. USGA rules apply. Rule 27-1 concerning lost balls & out of bounds is in effect, but shall be modified to a 1-stroke penalty. Official timing - the elapsed time for a player's round will start at the official tee time. Timing will be stopped when the ball is holed on the player's final green.

    SCOREKEEPERS / CADDIES

**Volunteers are encouraged to sign up here by selecting the Volunteer option above for $1. USE CODE: VOLUNTEER21 for $1 off. All players will be assigned a volunteer scorekeeper who runs or drives a cart along with them during their tournament round. Scorekeepers will perform the following duties: a) Mark their player's score on the official scorecard. b) Help their player find their ball (forecaddying is encouraged). c) Rake sandtraps for their player. d)Repair ball marks on greens made by their player.

All players have the option to bring their own scorekeeper with them to the tournament. Aside from the ability to keep up with their players, volunteer scorekeepers must meet two additional requirements: 1)arrive at the 1st tee staging area 15 minutes before their player's scheduled tee time. 2)commit to accurately and honestly recording player scores and following the above guidelines.

If you do not bring your own scorekeeper, we will pair you with a friendly and capable volunteer recruited from the local community. **ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOLUNTEER AS A SCOREKEEPER FOR ANOTHER PLAYER.

Advice - USGA Rule 8 shall remain in effect, and advice is not permitted from players or spectators.  Any verbal or physical communications between players and spectators could be construed as giving/receiving advice and may result in a 2-stroke penalty. The scorekeeper will serve as an eyewitness.

Spectators are allowed to help search for lost balls.

    EQUIPMENT

No Equipment on Greens - Per SGUSA policy, players may not place or drop bags/clubs/equipment (other than the ball) on the surface of the putting green.  Violations of this rule shall incur a 1-stroke penalty per incident.

Finish With All Equipment - Players must finish their round with all of their equipment through the green of the last hole played.  The penalty for leaving equipment on the course is 1-stroke per incident.

    LOCAL RULES

A complete list of local rules will be made available to all participants the week of the event.

Thanks to title sponsor Wright Implement, and also Lightpath Wealth Advisors, a cash purse will be offered to 36 hole Pro Division participants. Medals/awards will be provided to division and category winners.
